Don't forget who is on the other side... Carpenter pitched perfect against Philly's, question is can he repeat that game, with his experience probably yes. Will wait and see tomorrow for my pick. Good luck!!!

I actually took the Cardinals ML here, last few starts against STL have not fared well for Gallardo, Pujols is hitting a ridiculous (.727 avg and 7 RBIs) against him with much of the Cardinals lineup also hitting well against, esp. at home. Last two outings against STL RL has hit at home. Given this is the playoffs and the ML is a much better choice statistically, my stats show Cardinals will continue to hit well. And Carpenter is reminiscent of his 2005 playoff performance when the Cardinals won the WS.

Cardinals have been the one team that is a thorn in Gallardo's side.....probably play Cards -1.

          This.

Card's big bats hit VERY WELL v. Gallardo. Furcal has a whopping 0.563 OBP and a 0.917 SLG rating. Pujols has a 0.926 SLG rating. So basically, any time those two come to bat, it's either a double, RBI, or homerun.

Brewer's SLG rating v. Carp is only 0.387. If he can keep Weeks and Fielder at bay, Card's should be okay.

Only thing I'm worried about is this a perfect let-down game for Carp. I may parlay with the OVER and cut the juice.

I was actually leaning Gallardo until I saw the stats here... you can't ignore it.
