Good point. I bet $20 per unit, admit as much because I do this for fun, yet I'm the one who's insecure. Meanwhile, we have you: a guy who creates a record number of ridiculously arrogant user names, keeps getting banned, keeps coming back, keeps posting horrible picks, keeps talking shit....

This is just sad now. You are embarrassing yourself. What are you -- drunk or just lonely again?

Won your bet (congrats), but I still have to question your definition of die-hard

        This is just business, matt.

I never really understood why some people try to criticize others for the amount they bet. I do not bet huge amounts either. I do this for fun and to maybe make a little dough on the side. I don't think I would enjoy it very much if I had tons of money riding on games all the time.

no hard feelings of course. I look at your picks quite a bit. I just don't think a die-hard fan roots against their team in their biggest game in the last 5 years for $60

It actually ended up being $100. I wasn't necessarily "rooting" against them. I try and separate the two. If I lost the $100, my team would be up 1-0 in the ALCS and that would've been fine by me.

Not sure what using Porcello accomplished tonight. Now Scherzer goes on 2 days' rest -- I know he didn't pitch much on Thursday, but this is still a weird setup now.

I guess some people can work with that 'happy either way' mentality if they bet on the other side. I'd be mad if the Tigers lost even if I won $100 off it though lol

And yeah, I'm not sure why Porcello pitched either. I guess Leyland was confident and wanted to bridge the gap. Maybe he's thinking about starting Verlander in Game 4 on short rest, so Porcello won't be needed until Game 5.

Matt - this is about investment and making money in this forum. If you just want to root for your favorite team, perhaps this is not the right forum for you. No coins goal is to make money regardless of the amount of his wager. Who cares if he bets $20 per unit or $300 per unit. As long as he makes wise investments at great prices and creates profit then he has accomplished his goal. You have to be able to separate your fandom from a wise investment because they often clash. I am a very big chicago bears fan, but in the nfc championship last year I cashed the packers. Why? Because I knew they were ther better team and had a higher probability of covering than the bears. The point being that we are all here to make money and not root for our team. You should be congratulating nc on making a profitable wager not giving him a hard time about wagering against his favorite team. Good luck.

You should, in theory, be able to take advantage of how much you know about your favorite teams and bet their games selectively and accordingly.

                    In theory.
