I know it is way early, but let's talk a bit....
Obviously this game will be nationally televised as it will be the Sunday Night Game of the Week. They will be playing Baltimore too, who figures to be out of it by then. It's not the final game of the year for NYY either so knowing the NYY, they will be in the playoff mix somehow and someway. Baltimore is a poor road team as it is. You figure there will be hundreds of baseball personalities, celebrities, and other such dignitaries so the atmosphere should be electric.
Irrespective of pitching matchup (TBD), it's hard to imagine how this line is not something like -250 to open and may close even higher given the historic situation and the fact that it is the Sunday night game of the week.
Of all the starters, it seems to me that Andy Pettite is likely to start the final game at Yankee stadium.
I am also willing to make a huge huge bet that Mariano Rivera pitches the 9th inning regardless of the score.
What do you guys think?
We'll bump this up in a few months to see how predictions panned out.
