    MLB Run Lines Killing Me
    Just had to vent...

I'v been doing fairly well lately pickin MLs for baseball lately, and iv noticed a very high % of my ML bets would have won as RLs, and i calculated that I would have won a decent amount more money had i made the bets as RL best instead.

So the last 2 days, i figured i would put my theory to test and i put in my picks as RL instead of ML. And for the 5th straight game (Phillies today) that i have bet on, the team i bet on wins by 1. Its unreal. Would have been 5-0 the last two days had i kept doing ML, instead i am 0-5. Cant believe the difference in +/- units i'm at with this run. Its so damn hard to bounce back from seeing the teams you like all winning five straight games, only to see you go 0-5 during that stretch.

If you are playing rl's to avoid high vig, bet the -1.

Good advice, some books don't offer the -1 but you can create it yourself by playing the ML and RL. I'm on my way out so I don't exactly have time nor am I well-versed enough to explain how to make it work. Another piece of advice would be to start looking at some of these ugly dogs on the RL. I had Phils ML in a parlay from last night so I decided to hedge some of it with Houston RL +140 and was lucky enough to hit both.

Agreed. You can always place a smaller wager on rl and still make a profit if fav wins by 1. If I really like a fav, I go big on ml and 1/3 unit rl if it is plus money.

I agree, MLs are much smarter. I just got greedy...i ****** up. But still, for five games in a row to win by 1 when i bet RL? Thats pretty ridiculous. Id rather my team just lose 10-0, not drag it out til the 9th inning only to find out i was this close, and yet so far.

              Lesson learned...

              ...the very hard way.
