      They count as earned runs.

        The only time they do not count as Earned Runs is if an error prevented what would have been the third out of an inning.

        For example, 2 outs, bases empty, and the next batter reached first when the shortstop boots a grounder. The next batter hits a 2-run homer. Both runs are unearned because they should be out of the inning.

          in the tor game litsch gave up 8 runs but 3 ER so which will post to his ERA

          the 3 but it should be the whole
