Why: Livan Hernandez is 3-1 in last 4, in 7 innings in 3 of last 4. Josh Beckett has been great, no doubt about it? (2-1 last 4). Trend w/Beckett, pitched 1 less inning in last three, from 8ip,7ip, and last start only 6. Therfore, Beckett may only go 5- 7innings, again.
Minn +1/12 because last 2 were within 1 and Boston's last 4 were within 1. great price at a plus for the Twinkies.
Fla/SD under: Baek's solid for ther under in 2 of last 3 was under. Olsen was humiliated by the 18 run drumming by Colorodo, last week. Olsen should sober up from that embarassment. I believe Olsen is highly motivated to pitch a gem. If it goes over, then we know Olsen was hitting the sauce, again.

I like this game to get over the posted total tonight. Van Benschoten has been awful. In his last 3 starts, he is 0-1 with an ERA of 15.63. Mohler is throwing for the Astros on the other side, and he carries a 4-4 record with a 4.13 ERA into this game. Both teams have the ability to score runs in bunches, and PITT is one of the best "over bets" in baseball. The over is 5-2 for the Pirates in their last 7 games. This is one of those games where the total could be hit by the 7th inning.

Another low total for a Santana start. Deeper inside the #s though and the OVER has a shot. In Santana's home starts, the totals are averaging just a shade under 9 runs per game. In his last 5 home starts, only one game wouldn't get you at least a push with today's #. 4 of 6 at home in all have gone OVER. For Sanchez, which guy shows up? Yes, he is 6-2 on the road, but the games are averaging 11.5 runs per game. 5 of his 8 road starts have gone OVER. Most telling for the OVER perhaps is that the Mets got to Lincecum for 4 runs last night and if they can equal that or more, I like the total to go OVER.

one thing your forgetting Eagles. Mets are horrible against lefties and Sanchez is a lefty. San Francisco may get closer to the total of 7 before the Mets..San Fran got 0 runs last night and right handed pitchers are their archilles tendon. They hit left handers good and Santana has been hit around lately.. I forcast San Fran winning this by a point or 2 and the total to be around 8 or 9 points. Let's see..
