Sterling Castro Blasted by ESPN Announcers
Just wondering if anyone else found last night's commentary on Sterling Castro's inability to play the game the way it's suppose to be played at the big league level entertaining. Cameras showed and replayed Castro's on the field antics as his back was turned away from the hitter during a pitch, grabbing sunflower seeds during a pitch, not having his glove on his glove-hand until the last second, and looking up at the sky or down at the ground. The blasting went on and on and at one point, they had a mini-in game camera just on Castro to catch any more nonsense he might commit. The game before that, spectators were able to witness Matt Garza's sissy-fit over walking a card in the first inning, in which he stared down the manager and repeatedly delayed the game before being saved by a double-play ball.

The city of Chicago, the Cubs organization, and the players that wore the uniform deserve better than this (I'm not even a Cubs fan). How did one of baseball's golden teams become in such a state of disrepair? Soriano and the financial fiasco? Zambrano's recent fit? and the list go's on and on....

Castro was a clown last night in front of a large television audience and hopefully the coaches and the vets on the team let him know that his on the field antics were completely out of place!

I don't know why they'd single him out -- there are literally dozens of MLB players who have no business being in the game. Hell, look at your average middle reliever on basically every single team. I remember a while back they caught that cat from Florida sleeping in the bullpen.

Ah, the joys of guaranteed money. Just part of baseball's "charm" I guess....

Not often you see players, let alone shortstops, with their backs turned away from the hitter during a pitch though...it really was on another level last night.

Great hitter and his back turned to the player was for only one pitch, but him grabbing seeds was during a different pitch, waiting until the last minute to put his glove on occurred during another pitch, and so on. It really was not just the announcers blowing things out of proportion. Lasted a whole inning...that is of the camera being on him and the ESPN announcers blasting him.

yeah well ESPN baseball announcers suck. I have to mute them just to watch the game. The MNF announcers on ESPN Jon Gruden etc... are good though
