Frenchy went to Mississippi to find his swing. It sure as hell isn't in Atlanta. The Braves are usually a good under play. Decent pitching but no sticks. Of course it could be worse -- they could have re-signed Andruw Jones.

Long time Braves fan from back in the days of losing 100+ games every year.

The reality of the situation is that we were depending on two 40+ year olds and a guy who hasn't thrown a meaningful pitch in going on three years in our starting rotation. Hampton went down before he ever threw a pitch. Glavine, who hasn't been on the DL in his entire 20 year career, has been on the DL twice this season. Smoltz has season ending surgery. The rotation is in shambles. They've had a ton of injuries in the back end of the bullpen. The offense has been inconsistent.

It all adds up to a team that won't sniff .500 for the season.
