I went 3-0 +2.54 units yesterday. I'm looking to continue the success with these plays.
Cubs-Giants Over 7 -125
Pros: Yes, Lincecum has been great this season but has yielded some runs to the higher powered offenses of the tigers and Astros. Sean Gallagher is bad, especially on the road with a 4.99 ERA and a .280 batting average against. The Cubs are getting Aramis Ramirez and Reed Johnson back today, so expect their offensive production to be up. Also, both sides will be pushing hard to score points as it can either split the series or give the Giants the win. The San Fran bullpen has been pretty bad as well.
Athletics +106
Pros: Justin Duchscherer is the league leader in ERA. He has shut down the most potent of offenses, whether at home or on the road. Expect him to pitch another gem at US Cellular tonight. He is opposing Javier Vazquez, who went 2-2 with a 7.48 ERA in five June starts. He is returning to his previous form after starting off the year as a dominant pitcher. While the A's may not have the best offense, expect them to capitalize on Vazquez's mistakes. The only reason the white sox won the past few games against the Indians was because of the crappy cleveland bullpen. Oakland will not have this same problem, especially since Duchscherer gives long innings.
Cons: The A's offense may lack in production.
Braves +105
Pros: The Braves best pitcher, Jair Jurrjens, will oppose the Phillies' best pitcher Cole Hamels. Jurrjens has been dominant at home, while Hamels has not been outstanding on the road. Jurrjens is 4-0 with a 2.77 ERA in eight starts since his last loss on May 12 in Pittsburgh. He is making his first career start against Philadelphia. He will most likely be effective since the Phils have not seen his stuff yet.
Cons: The Phillies offense has been good recently.
