Boy, Jonathan Sanchez - what a waste of talent. How does this guy walk so many and give up such untimely hrs so consistently? How can he be such a favorite in any game? So glad I took Pitt today.
Makes me wonder how many other pitchers there are who have great "stuff" and always get stacked lines at home, despite basically being unreliable train wrecks. Would like to figure out a system for identifying those guys and fading them as a formula.
Other SP's that come to mind that fit the profile:
Javier Vasquez
Matt Garza
Max Scherzer
Ryan Dempster
Ubaldo Jimenez
Trevor Cahill
Lots of others I'm sure I'm missing - but guys capable of many strikeouts, but can't stay away from high walk totals and often get hit with a big # in one of the early innings. But always seem to have some sort of name value that stilts the line in their favor b/c folks don't like to bet against them ...
