    Hedge or let it ride?
    Parlay (3 Teams) 06/25/08 04:49 ET
bet 210.00 to win 1,185.76 Result: Pending

    Brewers(Milwaukee) Suppan 2
    Braves(Atlanta) Campillo 4 06/25/08(13:10 ET)
    Under 8.5 (even) won

    Brewers(Milwaukee) Suppan 2
    Braves(Atlanta) Campillo 4 06/25/08(13:10 ET)
    Braves(Atlanta) -135 won

    Giants(SanFrancisco) Zito
    Indians(Cleveland) Sowers 06/25/08(19:05 ET)

Should I hedge, or let it ride out?

bet the over? If so how much do you think? 600?

You would have to figure out the minimum to put down on the other side to wash it out or make a little bit in case but then it takes away from the sweet pot you'll have if you let it ride. Me perosanlly I'd probably hedge cause a lesser amount is better than nothing if I don't hedge it. Guess you'll be sweating for a while if you don't

I think for only laying 200 ish to win 1100 is worth the risk.. but I could lay 600 to win 600 and make 400 or make 600..?

I think a pertinent question (althogh perhaps to be considered at a later date) is why you would have bet this 3-team parlay if you were just planning to hedge were the first two legs to win?

Parlaying is better when all games go off at or around the same time IMO, else you should just take the winnings on one game and throw it on the next if that tickles your fancy.

sweating it out alright? Zito/Sowers are some slop throwing piles of shit at this point! Definitely hedge yourself on this one as you're probably on the wrong side or maybe they stop at 8-9 if you're lucky! I like the Giants value play here as Cleveland is hitting just .232 vs lefties!

If I was in your position I would hedge since you've already came this far and it would really suck if you lost.Your in a good position here. It depends on how much you like your play on the under. The over 10 is +110 where at bet so I would lay 510 to win 561.This is way if it goes over you win 351 for the day.If you lose you still win 685.You'll be kicking yourself if you let it ride and were to lose,I know I've been there, but good luck in whatever you decide to do.

I would hedge it just in case. But it's better to parlay games that end at about the same time. The Giants game should go UNDER but you never know when one side gets nasty and throws the game to the OVER side.

Your second bet would be $726 and it would guarentee you $450 profit. (Give or take a few because I did a rough estimate)

Honest to God Ganch, I wish I had a dime (a ten cent dime would do) for every time I've read a thread similar to this since I started reading at SBR, and scratched my head for the same reason.

Do NOT hedge. Why did you make the bet in the first place? If you intended to hedge, why didn't you simply bet a two-team parlay with the two afternoon games? The only time you should hedge a short-term bet like this is if you get some new information that makes you think you have a lesser chance of hitting the last leg.

Agree, or if you are not exercising sound bankroll management and the money is significant to you. In which case the bet also shouldn't have been made.

Wrong, "free money" at this point would have been if he just parlayed the two day games. That would have given him bigger payout than if he hedges now and guaranteed half a win.
