Umpire just got his face blasted by a bat

Wow...watching the Royals on MLB.com and Olivo's bat broke and creamed the home-plate ump's head. The camera caught the blood flowing and the ump wobbled to the ground. He's out of the game, they had to bring in the 2d base ump to take over.

These bats are gonna kill someone. How long until one shatters and lodges in someone's neck?

Yeah, they're saying that MLB needs to go back to ash bats, but the problem is that there's not enough ash bats that could be made in time.

Yeah I saw this one too. That bat split in half from the top but the part in the ground was like a sharp stake that could have pierced an artery, major organ, put an eye out etc;
