Monday Interleague Value Plays

I went 0-2 yesterday -2.00 units. I have been a little cold recently. I am hoping to reverse my recent fortunes with these plays:

Brewers -125
Pros: Sheets is pretty solid. Even when the Brew Crew was losing, this guy was still winning. He is a Cy Young candidate. Reyes, on the other hand, has struggled at home with a 5.19 ERA. Opponents hit .289 off him at home. Also, Chipper Jones is out, which will serve as a major blow to the Braves' offensive capabilities.

Cons: The Braves are a good home team.

Royals -110
Pros: The Royals hit southpaws well. Bannister, who is dominant at home with a 2.40 ERA, is starting. He shut down the Cardinals in his last start. Also, the Royals are very good in interleague play, going 7-1 this year. Jeff Francis has been good recently, but he did not pitch so well against the White Sox, who are most similar to the Royals out of the other oppenents he has faced.

Cons: Francis has been good of late.

Got five other cons. on the Braves game:
# Reyes got a 2.82 ERA in his L3 and now got two quality starts in a row..
# Chipper might be out, but yesterday Teixeira stepped in for him on the offensive part and hit 3 HR's in a 8-3 win (they can produce without Chipper too)
# Teixeira got .323 batting avg (10-for-31) against the Brewers lifetime.
# Sheets got two games in a row below pair where he didn't have all of his good stuff.
# Fielder, the one that produces big now for the Brewers is 0-for-5 with two strikeouts lifetime against Braves starter Jo-Jo Reyes.

Fielder has only faced him 5 times, so that isn't such a great statistic. Besides, the brew crew have a lot of other offensive tools, i.e. Ryan Braun. Teixeira has been hot lately, but he may have gotten those hits against other pitchers. Ben Sheets is the ace of the staff and a potential Cy Young candidate. I'm not saying that it is a lock. I just think Ben Sheets is a better pitcher and Chipper represents a lot of offense and clutchness.

Explain how reyes manages to pitch so poorly at home with that kind of run support?

Forget about Sheets' record and accept what will happen. The Braves will win. It's as simple as that.

Took a parlay on the RL in the BOS and LAA game pays 3 to 1, don't remember the exact lines though.

How do you like the Rockies? Their offense is a mere shadow of what it once was and they have Francis on the mound. The Royals are awesome in interleague play and hit lefties well at home.

Healthy....watch and u will see them lose ......Royals dont hit anyone well.....So what they can hit a fstball u dont think there gonna be able to handle Francis nasty stuff

Line keeps moving for Rockies they gotTuli Back helton holiday healthy....Dont forget what this team is capable of this is the same team that did it last year....Let me go look closer Ill give u some stats...Im not saying Royals are a bad play they could win just dont see it happening

I think the Braves pull this one out. I laid off of it. While I'd like to bet the Brewers, I think it'll be a tight game and the Crew's bullpen gives it up late. Brewers 5 inning would be my pick if I were to play that side...

Thanks. I'm a sucker for home/away splits. Certain pitchers are schizophrenics. They will be absolutely dominant at home and awful on the road or vice versa. When James Shields is at home, I usually take the RL. When he is on the road, I fade him.

I also just tought about the Reyes two quality starts in a row... Then it's time for a bad outing for a pitcher that's not among top 10...

Yeah.. They got out of a jam, but can they score??? If Sheets pitches for 8 innings it's over. If he throws 7 it's a minimal chance. If he throws 6 the Brewers pen got enough time to maby blow it...

Sheets may lose eventually. But there is no way of officially knowing when. So all you can do is bet him until he loses.
