Been on a nice 12-2 streak over the two weeks prior to the AS break so figured I'd start posting my picks. I make 1-3 plays a days and have found a lot of success. I'll generally post only team and line, but figured I'd throw on some explanations this week, being that its my first week posting.
Yankees -1.5 (+110)
New York is 5-3 against Toronto this year and has limited the damage done by Bautista. Bautista is 7 for 26 (.269) with three homers, and five RBIs in the series. He's hitting a mere .180 in his last 16 games against New York. Expect a nice bounce-back game from Bartolo Colon, coming off his first loss in 5 starts. Colon is 4-0 with a 2.53 ERA in seven road outings. BJ’s Reyes gave up 5 runs over 3 innings in his only start against the Yankees this season, so look for the Yanks hot bats to continue to do damage. The Yanks are coming into this game with a nice swing of momentum thanks to Robinson Canoe’s HR Derby victory. Toronto can’t say the same after Bautista’s disappointing outing. Though derby results and momentum will have no bearing on tonight’s game, the Yanks will win outright and pull closer to the first place Red Sox.
Indians ML (-110)
Masterson is 3-0 with a 0.40 ERA and 0.706 WHIP in his last three starts, and has pitched his best on the road this season. Guthrie is 3-12 with a 4.18 ERA and 1.327 WHIP this season for the Orioles. Masterson faced the Orioles in April and allowed 1 earned run and 5 base runners over 7 innings of an 8-2 Indian’s victory. Guthrie pitched against the Indians in April and allowed 6 earned runs and 11 base runners over 5 innings of an 8-3 Indians win. Expect Cleveland to build on their hot first half of the season in this series with the Orioles, particularly in this pitching matchup.
