    Dontrelle Willis is back... Again
Awesome with Florida for the first few years of his career, then he totally fell off w/ Det and Ari.

His problem was giving batters a free pass to first base. 92 walks in 24 games for the Tigers, then after being traded to Ari he walked 27 batters in 22.3innings. Nevertheless, Willis has posted impresive numbers in AAA (5-2) 2.63ERA, 67 SO's, and only 20 walks in 75 innings.

I think Wolf is regressing to the mean after a great start. His last two starts vs the Reds have been horrible also giving up 9 runs/19hits in 11 innings.

I like Cincy going into the All-Star break.

Can't wait to see him pitch for the Reds! They need help and I guess they are just taking a shot starting this guy?

New delivery and improved velocity this year. So his numbers in AAA are probably not to be ignored.

So it's a toss-up between Wolf and Willis? If I was a totals person the over would be my guess but I'm not so I think I'll stay away from these two has-beens. Cheers

The Reds made a smart choice signing him to a minor league deal. Since he's still young. If he turns it around they hit a home run, if he continues to not produce, they are out basically nothing. Like the signing but I'm still not convinced he will ever produce like he did for the Marlins.

Hard to have any confidence in Willis.

                              RE: age

well he came in with the Marlins when he was pretty young, I remember, so that's why he's not so old now.

Unreal has already walked 2, and given up two hits. 1st inning bases loaded no outs.

Willis bends but doesn't break. Him and Wolf exited the first with 27 & 31 pitches.

Willis has had outsanding AAA numbers. The most important part was throwing a number of strikes. He might have been excited, so his command was spot on the first inning. Either way I am happy to Willis up and not watching Volquez go 4 innings 5 runs with 5 walks. I've seen enough of that garbage.

Throwing strikes is the name of the game. You have 8 guys behind you, and batter only hit 20% to 30% of the time.

When u have zero in between your ears you can have an improved delivery, deliver pizza, or whatever else u wanna deliver but you will never win at the major league level.

2-2 as the runs and pitches keep coming.

Wolf with 44 through 2 innings and Willis has 42.

I have a feeling that DW is frustrated that Cincy has the lead, and is intent on fixing that issue.

Each time they get it he makes sure Milwaukee ties it.

3-2 Reds now so Willis has more work to do.

So far a decent outing by Willis and a lot more then what most expected.

Since the first inning he's looked good, IMO. I keep waiting for it to unravel though.

Still like the signing by the Reds as it's a very low risk high reward signing.

tru that. but if his problem has always been control why wouldnt throwing k's translate to any level? If his control improved it really doesnt matter whether it AAA, Mexican league, winter ball, or majors, the plate is the same size and the mound is the same distance everywhere.

i liked him enough to only play Cincy tt ov 4 so it would be nice if they could hang a crooked number next inning.

Willis pitched great after looking very bad early.

Reminds me of Phil Hughes's return to action last week.

They aren't cutting Cordero though. He really killed them this series, but then again why would you send your closer out their yesterday with an 8-3 lead? I know they scored late, but they had time to warm up other pitchers instead Cordero threw like 30 pitches yesterday.
