Are the Cubs the "sharp play" this afternoon? Public is pounding the Gmen as the line is dropping. The Cubs really don't make a whole lot of sense here, but thats usually when they pull out a win.

Cubs have hacks on the mound in both games today. Giants have the surprising Vogelsong in game one, and the guy whose place he took in the rotation -- Barry Zito -- in game two. Zito making his return to the bigs today. Appears to me the team likes him and will be fully behind him. They need him to succeed with Sanchez on DL. There's going to be some adrenaline flowing. I'm one who watches line movement, but I can't bet on the Cubs today. I'll have a modest play on Vogelsong against Davis. Still chewing on game two.

the giants are behind zito for only 126 million reasons, nothing else. other than that they would rather suit up buster posey on crutches and put him on the mound instead but they cannot.

Even though it was in the minors, a 2 two hit shutout by Zito in his most recent start is nothing to be sniffed at. Whether that means he is worth backing today against the Scrubs is a totally different question.

These are the exact reasons I took the Giants. Davis' last outing was a fluke. He has been trash every other game.

I just felt better about putting my money on the defending champs and better pitcher even though the Giants were supposedly the "square" play.

Anyway, the Cubs could still win. Lots of game left.
