that would be reason 1, lol.

Carp stuff is still there, his velocity has been good, it took a while but he has been locating the curve much better the last month. Id be the 1st to tell you if this guy was done but i just dont see it, Honestly a lot of things that have happened to him have been bad luck, lot of ground balls finding holes, bloopers getting down, the always untimely errors of Theriot, terrible lack of run support . Cant blame it all on that but this guy is a warrior, combine that with the fact the velocity hasnt really dropped and he is still going deep into games if anything id say he is due for a serious correction in his numbers. Dont think he isnt looking to step up right now.

On the other hand Oswalt velocity has been down, he isnt going deep into games and something just seems off with him. Cards competed their asses off these 1st 2 games against 2 of the best pitchers in the game, id say Oswalt and phi pen will be much more fun to look at than Lee and Doc.

kinda hard to overrate the best 1-2 combo that i might have seen in my lifetime. then throw in Hamels and id say that is a trio no one wants to fukk with in the postseason. Oswalt on the other hand, like i said he hasnt been right for some time, i thought he was showing signs last season. When Cards were in the discussion for him before he went to philly i didnt want them to make that move.

Oswalt was a stud after the phills got him last season.. he threw like an all star pitcher the last two months of the season.. Look at Oswalt's record before his DL stint...he was 11-2 including postseason play in a Phillies uniform since they got him. Then he got messed up in the three inning outing against Arizona, went on the DL and hasn't been the same. Hopefully they rest and rehab him well and he comes back in his prior form.

but saying how bad their pitching is overrated is absurd.. #1 in the league in ERA with Lee having a bad start to the yr and oswalt being average. Doc/Lee/Hamels are all pitching at cy young levels right now.. tough to call that overrated..

you dont gotta tell me dlunc, id take Doc, Lee, Hamels and my softball team and compete in the nl central.

Oswalt was better than i expected at the end of the year but before the trade i thought he looked a little broken down. that guy gets a lot out of that frame (kinda like pedro but not that good), just saying id be concerned about him. you right if he gets a nice long break maybe he can return and be productive, not like it matters. you guys dont need him to win it all i wouldnt think. pricks.
