Agreed. I don't understand how all new-ish ballparks (built last 10 years, maybe) aren't required to have a retractable roof. I would think the cold would be as big, if not a bigger, consideration in some places than the rain, like Minnesota.

There's nothing like the playoffs in October in the cold.

The other thing is, you'd be able to use the stadium all year for concerts and whatever instead of it sitting there useless.

Stadiums without retractable roofs are cheap, and easy to demolish.

Chase field in Arizona, will be their forever. That building cost a fortune, but was necessary. Playing baseball in 110 degree heat is dangerous.
