Ervin Santana has had almost identical back to back outings for Los Angeles, allowing seven hits in seven innings in both but picking up consecutive losses. The long ball has been a huge problem for Santana this season, as he has given up 14 home runs already this season including six in his last six starts. The Angels have definitely needed these two wins against Seattle given their struggles of late, losing seven of ten overall and trailing the Rangers by 3.5 games. Los Angeles scored all four of their runs in the first inning on Tuesday and did very little offensively the rest of the game.
Erik Bedard has stayed injury free for the longest time in recent memory, and it is starting to pay dividends for Seattle. The veteran has gone 3-0 with a 1.69 ERA in his last eight starts and has not given up more than three runs in any of them.
