take the sox, the bookmakers are pushing the line toward tb as joe public prefers favs and they need to stop the bleeding from joe public killing it lately by taking bos.

domes are perfect for wakefield and the knuckleball, no wind or weather factors effecting him being able to "control" it. walks are the biggest factor for him and if he can eliminate the walks it is very difficult to hit even around the strike zone. if little game james can contiue his home dominance this will be a low scoring game. took under 9 runs. good luck!

i did some research and wakefield's career ERA is alot better in domes. however, the last 5 times wakefield has played in tampa he was shelled 3 times(the 3 most recent), 1 good start(1 ER 7 IP), 1 decent start(3 ER 6 IP). Shields is alot better pitcher than his ERA suggests, the books consistently price him as one of the league's best and he's 6th in xFIP.

Sorry boss, it's kinda ironic how you say the "public" is taking favs when over 60% is on Boston and everyone in this thread says Boston.

I am on the other side here. I hate when a hot team takes a day off, especially traveling.

Boston is 1-5 in its last 6 games against TB on the road.
TB is 5-2 in its last 7 games, and 9-3 in its last 12 games against Boston.

When I say joe public I'm looking at the "public" line moves and all the moves show the line going from -125 to -130 and some are even at -135.

I have no idea what everyone here is on as it's some what limited in the big picture, but the line opened at -125 and is already at -135 so based on the line movement here not too many are on Bos. Either way I'm on Bos.

wakefield is 40 something years old, he isn't gonna do well forever so yes he has tailed off recently. my point was the how the knuckleball performs in domes vs outside with weather being a factor.
