Yesterday my stomach said Rockies while the stats/brain said the Dodgers (got burned on that one), but both my stomach and my brain like the Rockies today. The Dodgers have been horrible agains LHP and they got shutout yesterday. The Dodgers is 1-2 after been shutout so it's hard to say if that have any influence on the game, but the Rockies havn't got a shutout so far this season so that might boost the team. Also the Dodgers are 1-4 in their last 5 when their opponent allows 2 runs or less in their previous game.
The Dodgers only got a .216 batting AVG with only 1.63 R/9 and 0.2 HR AVG against LHP in L10. The Rockies got a .233 batting AVG with a 3.42 R/9 and 0.7 HR AVG in L10. Also the Rockies got a better slugging% L10 game with .402 against Dodgers .345... The Rockies are better in LOB:R to with 1.79:1
against Dodgers 2.10:1... Also the pitching matchup favoring the Rockies: Cook vs Kershaw. Cook got a nice 3.36 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP in 83 IP, meanwhile Kershaw got a 5.59 ERA with a 1.55 WHIP in 9.2 IP. Kershaw gave up 4 ER in 3.2 innings against the Mets in his last start. In Cooks last start he gave up 7 ER in 6.1 innings against the Cubs, but he hasn't two bad starts in a row L10 starts. Also the Rockies are 5-1 in Cooks last 6 road starts vs. a team with a losing record. Cook is 4-5 with an ERA of 4.37 and a WHIP of 1.543 lifetime against the Dodgers. Both teams are 7-10 in game 3 this season.
So what you guys think?
