A hot Mariners team cools off when Tampa Bay comes into town. I've been riding James Shields all season from his very first start and should bounce back from a loss in his last start. Hernandez is coming off a 129-pitch outing against the Yankees so I don't think he will be quite as sharp as he usually is. Despite that, I still expect a pitcher's duel with Tampa Bay coming out on top in a 3-2 type game.

edit: if you actually look back at the data pitchers over 125 pitches are profitable in the next start but the sample size is not incredibly significant...at 127+ pitches in the previous start then it becomes massively profitable to be on that pitcher

Because I'm getting Shields at +money and will take that every time. I don't bet much bases but this is the play that i like today. Take it or leave it.

Lol do people even read the original post anymore? Never once used the word "lock." This is my play of the day... Obviously the books expect a close low-scoring game but the point is that I think the Rays will come out on top and that getting Shields at +money is a great play.

Why do people ignore things like the effect that a CROSS-COUNTRY FLIGHT (from the SE tip, to the NW tip, at that) has on human beings? Because they are ATHLETES? Nobody learned anything just last week when the Indians went from Tampa to Toronto to face the lowly JoJo Reyes?
