any leans on the San Francisco Giants tonite
thinking about putting some coin on the giants tonite...padres suck on the road and in general...the giants are playing better and just swept the d-backs (how the hell does that happen)

San Diego will hand the ball to Greg Maddux (3-4, 3.76 ERA), who is 0-1 with a 4.30 ERA in three starts since winning his 350th game on May 10 against Colorado. He gave up four runs—one earned—in 5 1-3 innings in the Padres’ 18-inning, 12-9 win over Cincinnati on Sunday.

Maddux is 6-0 with a 2.42 ERA in 11 starts against the Giants since his last loss against them on May 9, 2003 while still with Atlanta. He has made 51 career starts against San Francisco, going 29-14 with a 2.80 ERA.

San Francisco counters with Matt Cain (2-3, 4.43), who gave up two runs in six innings but didn’t get a decision in the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader, a 5-4 loss in Florida.

Cain has made 13 career starts against the Padres, his most against any opponent, going 3-4 with a 2.32 ERA—his lowest against any NL foe. He has dropped four straight decisions against the Padres since a win on Sept. 8, 2006, but held them to one run in seven innings in San Francisco’s 13-inning, 3-2 win in San Diego on April 23.
