It will be close but I think he gets in since he has a world series ring.

Putting aside how much I like to watch him fail, in my opinion if he never has another start again, I would be shocked if he is ever considered a candidate for the Hall of Fame, let alone get in.

there are people that think andy pettitte is a border line hall of famer. Based on that alone, there is no reason for me to think that John Lackey gets in.
Had one good season (07 was it?)
Besides that one outlier season, he hasn't won more than 14 games in a season. Only twice in his whole career has he posted an ERA under 3.5
For most of his career, he has put up #'s of a #2/3 starter, which is fine, since thats what he is. No spot in the hall from my perspective. I don't think the ring will put him in

Message to MLB:
When the Angels dont re-sign their big name free agents, steer clear of those guys.
Lackey, Figgins, and K-Rod are the latest examples. Texeira is producing, but he is getting paid 20+ million a year. Not worth the stress on your pay-roll.

Short answer: NO.
Real Answer:what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

This thread is hilarious. When you have pitchers that have far better career numbers than Lackey being looked at as borderline HOF, I can not even see Lackey getting on the ballot
Thanks for the laugh first thing in the morning !!

The only thing Lackey has in common with other Hall of Famers is that his career is over.

Lackey is turning 33 this year. He's past his prime and getting worse.
He spent 8 seasons in the AL West and still has an ERA of 3.98.
He had one very good HOF-caliber season, and that's it. This guy is not even close to being considered.
