way to build the new field without a roof..

    forecast for this evening:

    Tonight
Breezy. Rain and snow in the evening...then rain and snow likely after midnight. Snow accumulation less than 1 inch. Lows around 35. North winds 15 to 25 mph.

It was 65 and perfect yesterday but rainy, windy, and 40's today...damn global warming!! It's just a crappy spring that's all. Target field is great. The big inflatable toilet we call the metrodome is a joke!

Always the difficult thing about this time of the year. Nothing worse then having a wager down that doesnt get played.

It probably won't get played tonight, but the Twins and the people of Minnesota did nothing wrong by building this stadium without a roof. The difference between the weather in the Twin Cities and Chicago/Cleveland/NY/Boston/Philly is negligible. In fact, it probably rains more on the coast than in the Midwest.

Maybe it's just me, and I'm certainly biased as a Minnesotan and a Twins fan, but I think a retractable roof on a stadium totally ruins it aesthetically. I can deal with a rain-out or two (if I remember right there was only one in its inaugural season) if it means we have one of the nicest/nicest looking stadiums in the country, which it is. Plus as a taxpayer, not paying the extra hundreds of millions of dollars is pretty nice, too.
