Assuming that the lines are basically similar I found out that I would have gained units by betting favs in first 5 innings and I would have lost units by betting dogs in first 5 innings. Is this the usual?

I bet first 5 from time to time, but I only bet on the under. The problem with sides is the bullpen can and will give up a lot of games that the normally would have been winners for the starting pitcher. Pens are just to inconsistent at times.
