Friday Baseball Thread....what games to look into?
Who's up in the air about a game? Im going to start taking games that other people want to look at, making my picks on them, and keeping a record. The info will be good even if my plays are not, so lets see what we can get in here.

Braden looper pitches to contact and his K/9 ratio is at an all time low. Braden is a ground ball guy and his LD% sits at a very nice 17.8% which is well below his career average. Looper will go to 5 different pitches, his favorites in order are the FB, Slider, Split, then the change. He goes to the cutter every once in a while. BL has been giving up the long ball more frequently in his last couple starts which could be of some concern has his K rate and HA/IP ratio has increased.

Andy Sonnastine is also a pitcher that doesn't get a lot of Ks but also doesn't allow many free passes. He's another ground ball guy who benefits when he works quickly. Unlike most pitchers, Andy doesn't go to his fb all that much; he throws it just 38.4% of the time. here is andy's pitch selection break down:
          • FB: 38.4%
          • Slider 20.3%
          • cutter 24.4%
          • Curve 10.5%
          • Change 6.4%

The Rays don't have much experience against Looper, as you would expect. The experience they do have has been unsuccessful as Floyd and Gross have combined to go 1 of 13 vs. the righty.

A trend of note here is the over has cashed in 23 of STL's last 33 inter-league games.

TB and STL have each been hard pressed to find runs over the ir last 7 games despite the fact that each squad is batting over .277 in those contest.

The cards, as a team, strike out very infrequently while the Rays are 2nd worst in the AL in Ks per 9. Unfortunately, Stl isn't in a position to take care of their propensity to strike out with Looper on the hill. Today we should see a lot of balls put in play, but few runners walked. The HR shouldn't be a huge factor vs the starters or the pens, but the TB pen does have a distinct advantage over all.

With each of these teams hitting well and 2 pitchers who have been giving up a lot of hits, im going to leaning towards the over. TB has been hot while stl has been pretty cold so im also leaning towards taking the hotter team at -108.

My plays will all be 1-3 units.
My first will be on the AL east representative at 1 unit -108

Well I would take a 1-1 split Mo. You are 1-1 in this thread, good call on the rain out.
