Chuck James is terrible... Braves are starting to hit the ball with their new lineup in place... But Hamels i think is going to be too much for the Braves tonight...

Gotta eye the fish. They are producing runs and Miller is a great pitcher. Then again... are the marlins going to become the marlins everyone thought they were going to be?

Thats the only question I have... lost on the Fins 2 days in a row.

          K/9 8.05 --- 7.67
          BB/9 5.21 --- 2.73
          HR/9 1.89 --- 0.80

          GB% 30.9% --- 40.1%
FB% 52.7% (marked due to the park. Not a good place to give up a lot of fly balls) --- 40.5%

          What he throws:

          FB: 67.2% --- 58%
          Slider: 2.5% ---
          Curve: 0.0% --- 14.3%
          Change: 30.3% --- 27.8%
          Strikes: 186 --- 562
          Balls: 138 --- 273

          Splits (lefty/righty)
          Hamels:
ERA: poor vs lefties; good vs righties
K/9: good vs lefties; decent vs righties
BB/9: great vs lefties; decent vs righties
K/BB: amazing vs lefties; decent vs righties
HR/9: poor vs lefties; good vs righties
          Ave: good vs each

          James:
ERA: Awful vs. righties, great vs lefties
K/9: good vs lefties, decent vs righties
BB/9: awful vs lefties; not good vs righties
          K/BB: Not good vs either
HR/9: awful vs. righties; great vs lefties
Ave: good vs lefties, poor vs righties.

          James vs the Phillies:
Over 108 total Abs, the phils have recorded 7 doubles, 6HR, 6 BB, 25Ks, and an .804 OPS vs chuck james. Predictably, Burrell and Rollins have each killed James; here are some stats vs the lefty:
          • Rollins: 9 of 18 with a HR, double, and no Ks.
          • Burrell: 6 of 16 with 2 HR, 2 doubles, 1 walk and 4 Ks.
          • Howard: 2 of 16 with 2 HR and 7 Ks
          • Utley: 4 of 15 with 2 doubles and 5 Ks
          • Feliz: 2 of 10
          • Werth: 2 of 7 with 3 Ks
          • Coste: 2 of 5

          Hamels vs the Braves:
The Braves have 84 AB’s on this roster against Hamels and they’re batting .226 against him with an OPS of just .678. Eight of those Abs are from pitchers though, here is how the Braves break down vs. Cole:
          • Diaz: 5 of 18 with a HR, double, and 3Ks
          • Francoeur: 4 of 17 with 6 Ks
          • Kelly Johnson: 1 of 11
          • Chipper: 3 of 9 with a double and 2 HR.
          • Mcann: 4 of 9 with 2 doubles and zero Ks
          • Teix: 1 of 3
          • Escobar: o for 3

          I like the Phils here.

Look for Chipper to knock in a run or two while the righties eat up Chuck. The phills have the best pen in the league, so taking them for the game should provide the Phills with a chance to come back should they fall behind early.

Hmm. I like the Braves or the over. James is 2-0 with a 3.58 ERA against the Phillies while Hamels is 3-2 with a 4.42 ERA against the Braves. The Braves are getting an inflated line here. I love the value play here for a team that has been hitting pretty well so far this season.

James is not throwing strikes (57.41% for the year, opposed to 61.15% career), I would not put any money on him.
