    questions from newbie
Im still pretty new to baseball betting. So lets say for example today's game between mariners and royals. The game ended on the 8th inning because of rain. How do sportsbooks grade the game? Is it cancelled and the wager returned or do them grade the winner and the loser based on that 8th inning result?

Is it different one book from another ?

any game that has completed atleast 5 innings of plays is an official game...so say it was rained out during th 4th inning all bets would be refunded and graded no action....since this game stoped in the 8th inning KC wins and everyone who had them gets paid out...all books have house rules that are similar

Most books only pay on the ML if the game is called. RLs and Totals are refunded and graded as "no action".

If you play the moneyline, the bet should be graded, because after five full innings, the game can be deemed as "completed". Any action on the run line or totals should be graded as cancelled, as the game must be completed (8.5 innings if home team wins) to have action on the bet.

What book are you with? Most would and should call it a "no bet"

Don't get me wrong....I was pissed cause I loaded up on the under but it should be a no bet. My opinion is that any rainout game should be no bet.

i'll be interested to know that as well.. Do they grade totals as well when the game ended short?

Lets say they decide to end the game after the 7th inning and the score is 7-2 .. over under is set at 9,5... do they grade it as under... it seems unfair, doesnt it?
