I bet the Rangers yesterday knowing that even though Verlander is out of his mind right now, that team's inability to manufacture runs has been the number 1 problem since losing Polanco. Whats really on the tigers side right now though, is that Benoit, Valverde and Jackson all had the day off yesterday because Verlander pitched a complete game, so you know they are going to be lights out at the end of the game. Also, the Tigers are really desparate right now, and at +123, I would say its worth it. I mean Penny will probably get hit, but I think the tigers hit as well and win a close one.

I remember last year when the Tigers were slumping, I kept betting on the next game being their "breakout."
It basically never came the entire 2H. This lineup just plain sucks. No power outside of Miggy, no protection for Miggy, no speed -- just awful.

I will explain. Brad Penny has been terrible this season so far. He is coming off a season ending INJ from last year, and who knows if that INJ has hampered his performance thus far. Nothing points to a Detroit win today, and the Tigers are fresh off losing a series to the pathetic Royals.
So my statement that a Detroit bet is "just gambling". Was pointing out that Rangers have started out the season on a tear, and they have been putting money in their backers pockets, (9-1)SU & +9 Units. While the Tigers have been robbing their backers pockets, (3-7)SU & -5.87Units.
Their is a difference in getting plus odds against a team that is slumping, and getting +odds against a team that has only lost 1 game.
All that said Ranger can still lose today, but I said that in my OP.

Tigers bullpen has yet to live up to its billing. They have actually been horrible.
Tigers Bullpen: 28 IP; 22 Runs; 30hits; 1.55 WHIP; and 6.68 ERA
League AVG: 30 IP; 14.27 Runs; 28.43hits; 1.350WHIP; and 3.810 ERA
Rangers Bullpen: 25 IP; 6 Runs; 16hits; 1.067WHIP; and 2.13ERA.
Now the season is young, and the stats will even out. Though I still think Rangers bullpen has performed much better.
