Does Gio Gonzales have a shot at being AL cy-young award winner?

I definetly think so.

He has developed a decent changeup that was mostly what he needed (a 3rd pitch).

Low to mid 90's fastball with good movement and arguably one of the best curveballs in the game.

I know it's hard to compete with guys like King Felix but he might walk away with it.

The only thing is his BB:IP ratio is very, very high

He reminds me alot of J Sanchez from SF

if either of those guys could cut their BB rates down they would be Cy Young material

Yeah, I forgot that would be the one and only thing he'd have to improve.

i heard/read somewhere the other starters for oakland think he is the best/has the best stuff out of all of them.

He plays for a mediocre team that never scores runs.

He'd have to put up pretty amazing numbers to win it -- similar to Felix last year. What a waste those two are on teams that just can't hit/score.
