Out of mercy for BJays, Lee has vowed not to use the fastball.

Lee: "I pledged to my family that I would not use the hot stuff against little-leaguers like the Jays. Obviously the Blue Jays are still in the developmental stage of learning to hit, and I don't think it would be fair to throw my best stuff against such a struggling team. Those guys all have families that they have to face, and I see no reason to further humiliate them. Tonight I am going to give them a shot at getting some hits and maybe even a couple of runs. We'll see what they can do against my experimental stuff...I want to use this game as a tune-up for the real teams in the AL that we have to face in the near future."
