Pittsburgh Pirates @ Chicago Cubs (1:05 ET)
Why a huge tag with a pitcher who has fallen off the deep end the past few years? Even at age 29, Zambrano is clearly on his way out, and I wouldn’t trust him at -150 let alone -200. Too much overlay here to not take advantage, another situation where you take the odds and hope for the best at crazy Wrigley Field.
Pick: [903] Pittsburgh Pirates +177 (BetJamiaca)
Risk 1 unit to win 1.77 units
New York Mets @ Florida Marlins (7:10 PM ET)
I’ve mad the mistake of thinking “this is the year” with Ricky Nolasco before. What has ensued is continued disappointment from a pitcher with loads of talent. He may piece it together and return to his all-star form, but I don’t think it happens in his first start after the rough spring we saw him have. Niese has been highly serviceable and is going to be the main cog in this lowly Mets rotation. Expect him to get support and solid relief.
Pick: [911] New York Mets +130 (Bookmaker)
Risk 1 unit to win 1.3 units
Boston Red Sox @ Texas Rangers (8:05 PM)
John Lackey has sunk to his lowest levels after a forgettable season in 2010. Many forget that before last year, he guy was a top 10 pitcher for years. Backed by a largely improved Red Sox offense and you have the pieces needed to have a breakout season. Well worth shot against the overrated stock of Colby Lewis and the AL defending champions.
Pick: [929] Boston Red Sox +103 (BetJamaica)
Risk 1 unit to win 1.03 units
