Thanks for your insight, but I think these great pitchers just need a few runs to win, and since it's money line then winning by one run is still a win. Dan Haren's WHIP is at 0.96 which is excellent, and he's going against an ace too, but I'll test my luck with LAA going on the road might be a change of scenery they need to win. I'm hoping that R. Nolasco pitches better than Z. Duke tonight. That's just my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own. It's a sport game, and anything can happen, so we'll see.

I liked colorado because of the line. I was wrong and lost.
I thought the line was high for a reason... add to that the the public were on the dodgers big ( because of the inflated line ) which is why I took Colorado. Sometimes the linesmakers make mistakes with the lines they put out and I pay for them. There was absolutely no reason Ubaldo should have been - 200 yesterday... I thought the books put out a line to sucker in Dodger money. I was wrong and lost. But reading lines is one of the tools I use so I couldnt ignore it

from what i saw it was about 50/50 and the volume of money was the rockies the line moved 20 cents. if the line was inflated that means you should take the dodgers, you're not making sense

If u liked a side and could get it at a better price, then by all means u are correct. But he is reading the line... Thus thinking there is some reason why the price went up so high, that's why he pulled the trigger on the Rockies.

I have said before that unless u are privy to who ( public, whales) are moving the line, it is a crapshoot.

But a guy that is up 300+ units is doing something right

What I believe he's saying is that he expected the line to be -150 despite Ubaldo sucking, just b/c he's Ubaldo, but the fact that it was -200 made him think that Vegas was trying to get people to jump on LAD and thus that is why he liked Colorado.

I recall this identical thinking when he took Boston at a huge # at Cleveland and this was right at the beginning of Cleveland's spiral, so at the time they were ridiculous at home.

I questioned him then about the value of Boston @ Cleveland at like -180 and it was basically the same reasoning and it worked and Bosox stomped Cleveland.

Now that GG says this, I recall this old play and it's not my style of handicapping, but I know he does make these plays.

I have said it before and I will say it again, I have never bad mouthed his picks or anything, I use GG as a reference, so I always like to understand what he is thinking on certain plays that I am completely opposite of him. That's why I raised going against Lester and Humber yesterday, but I was on the same side on other plays. I just like to reason with him and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. I'm not saying GG wants my help or needs it, but i think there is nothing wrong with simply reasoning with each other and maybe it helps us both out.

Every comment against his play is not necessarily trying to tear him up, there is such thing as constructive criticism and nobody is above that and I don't think GG has a problem with my comments ever. If he did, he wouldn't give me a logical response, he would just tell me to F off

I agree 100% with this as far as books enticing money a certain way on their line.

I try and stay away from reading into lines too much though after I went cold for a while, b/c I felt like it got me into too much trouble. I generally cap games first and look at lines second to determine how big I will play the games I lean. It works for me, like I said, I used to look too much into the lines which got me in trouble.

The second half o/u line was 94 after a 104 pt 1st half. I figured the line was low, but thought hell the only people that will probably bet this line are the ones that took the under and wanted to pad the pts and not accept their original under pick. I did take the over, but I was sweating it with 18sec left in the game. I believe in that theory too...keep up the good work, GG!

It's that they set lines expecting the market to come heavy on one side and then they adjust accordingly. Once the line was set at -175 and moved to -195 there's no value left based on your theory how could you possibly say otherwise? If they were trying to entice(thats how its spelled btw) by putting out a soft rockies side at -175, there's no way that side can be soft anymore at -195. logic just does not exist in your world
