He had pitched the night before, and even though it was only for 0.1 innings, those back to backs rarely end well.

Why they rolled Sipp out there in the 8th after a 22-pitch "effort" (if you could call it that) the night before I'll never know. I say the same thing about football teams without a kicking game -- it's amazing to me that these franchises can't come up with legitimate and deep relief pitching. You can't win without it, yet hardly anyone seems to put a premium on it. Unbelievable.

I've watched Hudson pitch recently and he's struggling. I think he'll do OK in this spot, but I see the Giants taking a 4-2 type game. Lince coming off a loss at home in this spot is a great opportunity at a decent price. He's owned ATL at home and I don't see that changing today.

Typical Braves baseball last nite NC. They sweep the champs and go into lowly San Diego Padres and get beat in extra innings. I am not blaming the new coach but he made another bone headed move with the bullpen late by having Martinez attempt to lay down a sacrifice bunt in the 13th inning which was unsuccessful.. Who has a middle reliever attempt a sacrifice bunt? On top of that he left him in to pitch the bottom of the 13th after taxing himself on the bases. Ball game.

When the Pads' RF made that ridiculous catch and then doubled Martinez off at first in the top of the 13th, I knew I was fvcked. I'm so used to either one-run or extra-inning losses at this point that nothing surprises me anymore.
