It's well within reason to think that the Red Sox could go 9-0 in this span but fairly unreasonable to believe the opposite. I just don't get the rationale behind it...

One of the flukiest blown saves I've seen in a long time. Check-swing base hit on an 0-2 pitch to start the inning, error by worthless Lugo on a ground ball he had no chance of turning two with, sac. bunt from Pudge moves the runners to 2nd and 3rd. Granderson hits a ground ball to the right side to get the runner in from 3rd and tie the game, and Polanco gets jammed and breaks his bat on a 3-2 pitch, resulting in a bloop hit just out of worthless Lugo's reach to bring in the winning run. That's baseball.
