I was at the game in Houston back in Oct 2001 (it was a makeup for the contests canceled due to Sept 11th), and the Houston fans were booing then-manager Larry Dierker for not pitching to Bonds that evening and denying them the chance to see him hit #70 on the season. The Giants had a big lead and Dierker sent a rook to the mound in the top of the 8th to give the fans what they wanted. Bonds hit #70 and the Houston fans went home happy despite it being a loss at a time the Astros were fighting to make the playoffs. Idiots!
It's the most embarrassed I've ever been to be a Houston fan. Now those same folks are booing Bonds
