    Angels at Tigers (Friday 4/25)
Ervin Santana (3-0, 2.67 era) is scheduled to pitch for the Angels against Nate Robertson (0-2, 7.48 era). I am leaning towards taking the tigers especially if they are underdogs. I think its going to the Angels -125 ML. The Angels have a 3 game series (Mon,Tues, Wed) against the Red Sox in Boston. The tigers have a 3 game series against the rangers in Detroit. Santana did not pitch will on the road in 2006 and 2007. He would rather forget his last two starts at tiger stadium as the tigers won 9-0 (2006) and 12-0 (2007). Santana was a real road warrior in 2007. Santana was 1-10 with 8.38 era in 2007 and 6-6 with 5.95 era in 2006. So far this season Santana has won both away games. Santana beat Seattle 4-1 in LA last friday night. I was looking into Santana's longest winning streak and it was 4 games in 2006. The angels are going thru a tough stretch where they play 16 games in 16 days beginning tommorrow at boston. Nate Robertson is due for a win and Santana is due for a loss. I am fading out Santana for a loss on Friday. Lets discuss this game more on Thursday night/Friday morning.

Wow. You're up to Friday's card already?

Granderson will likely be back for this game, which is a huge boost to the Tigers' offense. As you mentioned, Santana's road splits are atrocious. As mediocre as Robertson is, Detroit won't be dogged at home to Santana and the Halos. No chance.

Lot of variables to play out before Friday, but as of now I'd line this game as Tigers -120.

Thanks for the input. I think you are right that the tigers are going to be a -120 favorite but i will be able to take the tigers on the run line as well. I was looking at baseball games this week and really did not like anything except for this game and have a lean on the Nationals against the Cubs which is also on Friday.

I am fading Santana to lose tommorrow against a hot hitting tigers team. Santana does not have great numbers on the road and at Coamerica Park. THe angels had to use their bullpen in all 3 games at Boston. Rodriguez saved the last 2 games as the angels took the last 2 games of this series. I doubt he will be available tommorrow and he definitely will not be if the angels are trailing in the late innings. The tiger bullpen is in much better shape than the angels bullpen. The tigers had big leads and as result were able to rest their bullpen. The tigers scored a lot of runs in their 3 game series sweep of the rangers. Detroit did not have to travel after their series agaisnt the rangers while the angels left Boston for Detroit. Nate Robertson will get his first win.

imo, this is a very tough game to cap. both team are hot right now. santana is the better pitcher.

it is tough to cap o/u because the pitchers are not bad, and both team bats are hot.

this is one of those games where you just flip a coin and go with it.

The tigers do have both Polanco and Granderson back in the lineup. Granderson has been out all season except for 2 games.

i really like waht you are saying about this game and i see detroit winning at the end of the game as a huge possibility but within the first 5 innings i do not see them ahead... so thats why my selection is Angels -105 > Detroit (FRIST HALF)

Twitchy, i think are you going to be accurate for the first 5 innings and I am going to be right about the tigers winning this game. The angels did win the final 2 games of a 3 game series against the redsox. The angels took avantage of the flu bug that hit the red sox. To beat the best team in baseball (the redsox), the angels had to use their bullpen and both wins were save situations. I am just a weary of the spread in this game. Tigers (Robertson) is -115 on the moneyline. I just do not like Santana on the road and especially after a game where he went 8 innings throwing 109 pitches. Taking the angels, I would be concerned if he gets another quality start. For this game, the tigers bullpen does have an advantage. The angels had a much tougher series and took advantage of a shorthanded redsox team.

Good luck Tab...I will be on the Tigers as well. I honestly think that Santana gets lit...even if he doesn't I am sure their pen will do everything in their power to blow the game.

The Angels are being to aggressive now. I think Robertson only threw 5 pitches in that 7th inning.
