that's probably the best idea. A cool 7 spot for Arizona should make me nice and happy. I've loaded up a little more than I usually do on this game.

#78Literally evvvvvvvvverything of his has been up in the zone. Unfortunately for us, he's missing his spots quite often today and leaving them right over the heart of the plate. For the Dbacks, just about every ball has gone directly at a fielder. Hopefully they can get a few seeing eye singles strung together at some point and get something going.
Cashner's at 50 pitches through 4. The sooner the dbacks get to the pen, the better.Comment -

#86Alrighty, we got a rather big card for today. Starting in the central.
Fading Cashner and the lack of bullpen today for the Cubbies. Pena is not in the starting lineup with a sore thumb leaving Colvin to make his first pro start at first + Marmol and Woody are unavailable. 10mph wind blowing out to right
Arizona @ Chicago Cubs
Ari (+133) for 2u
Ari TT Over 4 (-120) for 2u
Ari -1.5 (+210) for 1u
Game Over 9 (-120) for 1u
With the extra unit tossed onto ARI last minute, I ended up going 2-2 and breaking even unit-wise. Got lucky with Cashner getting hurt, made the right read on the CUbs pen, but just didn't get the result. Onto tonight!!Comment -

#88Alrighty, we got a rather big card for today. Starting in the central.
I like the Crew to steal their first win at home tonight. Gallardo, while a little wild in his first start, is a much better pitcher than Derek Lowe. On top of that, we should see Craig Counsell in for Yuniesky Betancourt (Counsell is a career 10 for 28 against LOwe) plus Nyjer Morgan over Carlos Gomez (Morgan is 15 for 28). Throw that together with a lot of doubters now that the Brewers have started the season 0-4 and I see a perfect opportunity to jump on at -104. (note- I layed 1 unit at -104 earlier this morning and went to put another one down at posting time and the line jumped back up to -115; hence -109.5)
Atlanta @ Milwaukee
Mil (-109.5) for 2x
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing for Hou @ Cin
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As long as the Cards aren't hitting, I feel comfortable taking a live dog with some #5 starters going. Got them last night when lines came out.
Pittsburgh @ St. Louis------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pit (+141) for 1.5u
A couple odd ball games that I also took are:
Dodgers (-104) for 1u
Angels (-108) for 1u
Seattle (+155) for 1u
to everyone today
Lad -1.04
Laa +1.00
Pit -1.50
Sea -1.00
------------
Night games: 2-3 -0.54
Day Games: 2-2 +0
Today 4-5 -.54u
Season:
7-8 -2.57u
Dbacks 5 - 6 Cubs (even)
Brewers 1 - 0 Atlanta (+2)
Pirates 2 - 3 Cardinals (-1.5)
Mariners 2 - 3 Rangers (-1)
Dodgers 0 - 3 Rockies (-1.04)
Angels 5 - 3 Rays (+1)
Looking at the scores of the opponents, only 1 of them scored more than 3 runs yet I couldn't get very many W's. I guess it was just one of those days. Lots of unders everywhere. That's 2 days in a row.
======================================== ============================
A quick glance at tomorrow's card and I don't think there is too much that I like. Will have to look closer tomorrow.
Hope everyone else had a winning night tonight!Comment -

#90Looking at my picks throughout the season (posted and non-posted), I am 3/14 picking dogs and 7/9 picking favorites. I might start focusing a little more on favorites, but I believe I've gotten a bit unlucky with my picks so far, so I don't want to change my strategy too much.
WIth that said, big favorites across the NL central today and as much as I don't think they deserve to be favored, I'm going to pass on these games. Pittsburgh is probably a good bet again until the Cards finally wake up. Not so sure about the rest.
Going to skip today and get ready for tomorrow. I'm supposed to hear back from a company I interviewed with last week, so hopefully I get some good news there. Be back around mid-afternoon when tomorrow's card comes out!
Good luck to everyone today.Comment -

#91For Thursday, April 7**Haven't made any of these plays yet, just giving myself the opportunity to see my thoughts.
I'd guess this thing won't stay at -145 and will go into the -130 range at some point, so I'm going to hold off and wait for a better number. I think Brett Myers is underrated, but I can't go against Cincinnati's hot bats, even if they do have the worse pitcher.
Houston @ Cincinnati----------------------------------------------------
Cincinnati (open -145) for (1u?) (((BetJM -141)))
Maholm is a pretty solid pitcher and Pittsburgh has been hitting well. Colorado should get into Pittsburgh late tonight followed by a 1:30 start. Looks like the regulars are starting today in LA and they may get some rest tomorrow for game 1. Esmil Rogers has been very inconsistent and he's been bad more recently than good. I like Pitt at +odds.
Colorado @ Pittsburgh----------------------------------------------------
Pittsburgh (+105) for (1u?) (((+104)))
Lots of lefties here in Atlanta's order against Shaun Marcum, and a lot of righties against Hanson. Platoon advantage ATL. Marcum and Hanson both pitched miserably in their first starts; Hanson in a rainy Washington and Marcum @ Cincinnati. I'm saying Marcum's shoulder isn't 100% and it will show against the Braves' lineup.
Atlanta @ Milwaukee----------------------------------------------------
Atlanta (-110) for (1u?) (((-109)))
Boston (-175) for (1.5u?) (((-175)))
Tampa Bay (-105) for (2u?) (((+106)))

With regards to my picks though, I've been having a tough time picking dogs. I'm currently 1-5 in the thread and 3-11 overall. I've won my +160 and +180 and lost the +200, but the rest (with an average line of +130) just will not hit for me. Not sure if I've just been unlucky or what, but going 1-10 with an average of +130 is pretty unreasonable. Hopefully it turns around here in the next couple of weeks when I get some reliable #'s to work with.Comment -

#100I like Myers and I'm sure I'll be playing him a bit this year, but the Reds bats are just too hot right now to bet against IMO. Probably should have gone no play, but I gotta try to get a piece of their offense. Haven't bet onthem since opening day.Comment -

#101The Reds' bats are hot right now but I took the 'Stros simply on the value the books gave us on Myers. Another good team to be backing right now I'd say are the Phillies. They have their Ace on the mound this afternoon and their also hitting well. ML is chalky at -200 but I don't see why they won't beable to hit Niese and win this ball game by 2 or more. Seems like a pretty square bet today but squares win sometimes too.Comment -
