    MLB Prospects
In a pretty deep and involved keeper league and our draft is coming in the next couple of months so I was hoping someone here knows some good prospects that I can snag in the late rounds ... more than just the obvious ones, I'm looking for sleepers ... I know of the obvious ones

figured this wouldnt be a bad place to go

Is it an AL/NL league, or just one? And how far out to you want them to make an impact?

I like the Moustakas kid with KC. He should get ABs with the Royals starting Opening Day. Desmond Jennings will get every chance in the world to take over for Carl Crawford in Tampa's lineup. Oakland has Chris Carter who's likely to sink low in drafts. Not a great park for a slugger, but still very capable of 25 HR for the A's.

One that bears watching is Yonder Alonso with the Reds. Cincy gave him about $5 million a few years back when he came out of Cuba, think they only have him under their full control another season or two. But he's a first sacker, and he ain't going to take ABs from Votto so unless they move him, will they trade him?

One guy I really like and will be interesting to see if he actually slots as the closer in Atlanta's bullpen is Craig Kimbrel. Pure fire from the mound. Unless he has an awful spring, he'll go higher than you may like but he's definitely got the stuff.

I'm interested to hear who your 'obvious ones' are. Did I name any?

Hey willie .. didnt mean anything by saying "obvious ones" I just meant like Bryce Harper, Hellickson, Ackley, Lawrie, Minor, Jennings, etc....

Just looking for the type of info that you gave

The league is a 30 round, whole MLB keeper league. Must keep between 5-15 guys and they move up 3 rounds for each year you keep them, starting after round 4.

Yeah, I've got Ackley and Minor also on list, plus the other Atlanta kid Freeman. Hellickson could be a bit overpriced this year in drafts with expected downturn by Rays.

What do you mean 'move up 3 rounds' for your keepers? If you keep them, how can they be involved in any draft rounds?

Still no Triple-A time for Hosmer. I'd almost expect him to need to really bust loose in Spring Training while Ka'aihue really stinks it up. Lots of rumors about Hosmer shifting to RF with his arm. Royals have gorged themselves with 1B/DH types; got to think they are going to try and deal Billy Butler once they get him through arbitration. If Butler gets a big raise, making him less attractive on trade front, then maybe they try and deal Ka'aihue if both he and Hosmer post some good early spring stats.

Brandon Belt 1st Base SFG. Will probably be a mid-season call up much like Posey with an outside chance of making the team out of spring training.

If I draft them in the 21st round in 2010 and I elect to keep them, they are locked in as my 18th pick for the 2011 draft.

Also deep sleeper that is a must... Jarrod Parker for the dbacks.

Has had some injury issues but look out for him. He is THE BEST pitching prospect in the minors

agreed added him to my roster 2 years ago, and have him stashed away.

In a 16 team keeper league myself... got Dominic Brown and Jarrod Parker myself... a couple other guys on my team u might want to look into are Jesus Montero who HAS to be getting a shot soon at playing Catcher for the Yanks with the continuing aging of Posada... and a kid by the name of Kyle Gibson for the Twins who had stretches of domination in the minors last year and is fairly highly thought of...

                                Good luck in your draft!

Royals signed Butler to a 4 year extension, keep an eye on Ka'aihue and Hosmer, both could break out in spring and then one will probably have too be moved. Butler is the DH for the foreseeable future, Hosmer is a first rounder that should get the job at first. Ka'aihue will probably get moved to someone that will give him starting time if he can post numbers in spring like he does in the minors.
