Reading Foxs sports on why Angels lost Crawford
Rosenthal came out and reported that Moreno and Angels didn't even get a chance to make an offer to Crawford. The agent said they had a deal during the winter meetings. Another report said the Angels offered 108 mil for 6yrs (less than what Wash gave to Whert.) WITH A DEAD LINE. You don't do that with your top priority!!!! You get em!!!

When he aquired the Angels, he said he would get the players to be in the playoffs. It happen the first couple of years (Hunter) and the screw-up on paying Gary Mathew Jr. 50 mil. (One good steriod year and got paid)

Crawford showed he was a player over many seasons not like GMJ. And now we have todeal with Boris for Beltron. How much are they going to OVER PAY for him. We know he only has a good first and last year of his contract.

    Any opinions fellow Angel fans

You are correct in that Moreno hasn't made a splash signing in awhile. He certainly seems to be sitting on his hands. However, I'm not sure you want to get into a bidding war with Boston. Let them overpay and develop your players.

I definitely expect for them to try their best to sign Beltre. As of right now, I see both Texas and Oakland as better clubs than Anaheim. That in mind, the AL West should be a solid division in 2011.

Have to disagree. Teams need to tell the agents/players their offer and set a deadline to accept/decline. This will cut out the games that Lee's agent played with the Yankees and Rangers this winter. Astros should have done this back in Dec. 2004 with Carlos Beltran. Instead, once Beltran made up his mind (i.e., his agent had stopped playing games getting teams to in effect bid against themselves), Houston was left holding its d!ck in hand.
