Love this move for the Cards. Hurts the D a bit but another solid bat in that lineup, he should rebound for 25-30 HR's.

#3Berkman will just play the role as a pinch hitter. He is coming to his conclusion unless Pujols goes on the DL.Comment -

#8I've watched Berkman play on three different levels -- college, minors, MLB -- and when he was at Rice it was my opinion he would be defensive liabilty as a DH in the majors. He proved me wrong, became in fact a decent outfielder. However, at this stage of his career it's difficut to see Fat Elvis getting into good enough shape to play 120+ games in left field. If he does, it will prove one thing: He simply became lazy and apathetical his last few seasons in Houston.Comment -

Matt will be playing RF and Berkman will be playing LF. This just buries Jon Jay's playing time.
