World Series Game #5: Are You Kidding Me, Part Deux?
So last night I did not understand why the Rangers were installed as a heavy favorite with the better pitcher starting for SF. Tonight I understand the situation. Do or die with Cliff Lee looking for redemption. But Tim Lincecum at +160 or better? Just like yesterday, taking the dog because there is no logic to over paying for the favorite just because the public perception is that "Texas has to win" or "Lee WILL bounce back."

Again, even if the Giants lose here I feel much better taking plus money on the team that has dominated this series.

The game is actually at Texas.

I made this game at close to -150...Lee is the better pitcher even after a rough start in Game 1, Texas has a superior offense, they're at home and it's a must-win so Lee probably goes the distance if need be (taking away the advantage of San Fran having the better bullpen).

Not at home - still in Texas, but still worth it. I just find the price ridiculous since it was around +116 for SF in Game 1 with this same match-up. I know the Rangers are going to be a HUGE public play tonight in this situation too which makes me like it just that much more. Last time Lincecum was in this price was against Halladay when the Giants won 4-3 in Game 1 of the NLCS.

Again the reasons you have there Waz are legit ... but most of those are the same reasons people have given all series to take Texas and they have not gotten the job done. I don't expect Lee to get roughed up again ... BUT if he does have a mediocre outing even where SF gets to him early, reality is going to start to play with Texas' mindset. Lincecum needs to do what he did last game, keep his team in it and not necessarily try to "out duel" Lee.

I just felt the air come out of the entire state of Texas. Edgar Renteria is pretty clutch. Still gotta finish, but what a blow.
