why do you guys like giants so much??? I am just trying to see if you guys have legitimate reason to like giants today... instead of backing them because they took one from Phillies home and now, they are playing at their own home so players and fans should be fired up to beat phillies. If you look at NLCS games so far, other than Cody Ross who hit 3 HRs against phillies, SF players are in a slump. Their BA is whopping .194 with OBP of .260. That does not look good at all... for the Phillies, they did not impress me at all in the first game. However, their bat at least looks to be heating up..... also, we all know how impressive Cole Hamels looked in every single one of his playoff starts. what about Matt Cain?? well, he pitched his first playoff game against STRUGGLING Atl and only gave up 7hits and 1run through 6 2/3 innings.... looks pretty impressive in a way since he only gave up 1 run.... but 7 hits?? against struggling atlanta??? I wonder how many hit he will gives up today against Phillies today..... so this is my thought on today's game....

I'm on the other side of this one. Not a great pitching matchup today, so it's may come down to the bats. If that's the case, I give the advantage to Philly.
For me today, its a small play on each of the Phillies ML, Phillies RL, Over 6.5.
Good luck to all

Not a great pitching matchup? Maybe not for SF with Cain on the hill, but over Cole Hamels' last 12 starts (including NLDS), he has given up more than 2 ER in only 3 games. In AT&T Park i dont see SF bats getting to Hamels at all.
However, it is interesting to note that Cody Ross is 9-30 (.300) lifetime against Hamels, with 4 HRs and 6 RBIs. I wouldnt scoff at Cody Ross to hit 1st SF HR prop bet, if available.

j_dunn, are you kidding?
Cain was arguably the best pitcher in the NL in the month of September - maybe the whole 2nd half. He was the real ace of the staff.
I agree that Cody Ross is smokin' - he will have great looks at Hamels - don't think Hamels will want any part of his bat.
