David Price is scared of the Texas Rangers. In his short career, he has pitched 19 total innings versus this team. The result: a 7.45 ERA. He should be scared. The average batting average of a Ranger is .290. The average batting average of a Ray is .248. I suspect that the Rays caught the Rangers looking ahead in Arlington, but tonight we have essentially a repeat of Game 1: the series may as well be 0-0 with a one-game playoff. In that scenario, I'll take the pitcher who fanned 10 in his last outing. The Rays are batting atrociously vs left handers this year, and it is clear that Lee has hit 2009 Playoff mode.
We have a wavering Price vs Iron Arm Lee. And now I want to mention the X-factor: in the last six Game 5's in an ALDS, the road team has won. In this case, the better team is the road team. Expect the Rangers to get to Price in the first four innings. When that happens, Lee is going to be relaxed. The Rays CANNOT AFFORD a relaxed Cliff Lee.
