Phillies / Reds <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< game one
    Halladay first 5,last 20 starts
    2-1-6-2-0-0-1-0-0-1-2-0-0-1-3-3-3-2-1-0
    6-9 past
    0-1-2-2-0-4-0-0-1-0-3-0-0-2-0-1-1-3-2-0
    Game
    2-2-8-4-0-4-1-0-1-1-5-0-0-3-3-4-4-5-3-0

Back on track last 2 starts,,and that shutout is right on time in 9 inn

    ________________________________________ __________________________

Volquez 5 past all starts (12),He also missed his rotation after allowing those 11 runs on 08/23,and his last 4 are worthy of mention somewhat,,but can he get it done vs Halladay,, highly unlikely also those last 4 runs allowed were against Pirates,D'Backs,Brewers, and Stroes,,,,not the strongest of teams
    1-6-4-1-1-0-5-,7-0-3-0-2
    6-9 past
    0-1-0-0-2-2-2-,4-4-0-3-0
    Game
    1-7-4-1-3-2-7-11-4-3-3-2

Volquez is a little bit shaky this season but I love Reds offence. Of course, it's hard to hit vs Halladay.

      My advice is,

Back Reds in play when (if) Halladay leaves the game in 8th (if he doesn't pitch a complete game) and if Phillies have the lead. Phillies pen is garbaga. They can easily blow up 2-3 run lead.

i will be on phils in 5 and RL in 9,,,,,,,also the under looks as great plays,,which does bother me with RL in 9 inn,,so still reviewing 9 inn play somewhat

Cueto last pitched on sept 29 so guess there trying to rest him another day or so,,and his start was great allowing 2 runs thru 9 inn,,but that 13 runs game prior also could be lurking on managers mind

Arroyo not pitching badly of late so would not be surprised to see him pitch game 2

phillies runs scored last 10 games

3-2-3-8-1-7-11-7-7,,, understand Phils had division clincled somewhere in those last 4 starts IMO,,,no need to win those games

Like the phillies RL on Weds and the phillies bullpen is actually pretty good right now and have been pitching good with the exception of Baez

I would start Travis Wood, their only lefty starter in game one. With the Philly lefty bats I think he would be the best choice.

+200.. Reds have a shot at this. They've beat Halladay already this year at GABP.. granted it'll be a bit different in the first game at philly.. but at 2/1 odds it's worth it, these teams are closer than what people give them credit for.

Agree, but he's a rook and that's a tough spot.

IMHO, Cincy's basically conceding Game 1 by going with Volquez. Well that, or taking a big chance and hoping he somehow brings his A game. They're going to test the waters with Cueto vs. an inferior pitcher to Halladay.

PHILADELPHIA -- There is something about the 2010 Phillies.

They open the National League Division Series on Wednesday at Citizens Bank Park as the best team in the league with realistic expectations to win their second World Series in three years. They have those expectations not only because they have been in the previous two World Series and have experience, but because they arguably have the best three starting pitchers in any rotation in the playoffs:
                                                        Halladay
                                                        oswalt
                                                        Hamels
The names are worth mentioning because they are the three big reasons the Phillies think this is the best team they have had, even better than the team that needed just five games to beat the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2008 World Series.

"We're better all around," said Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins, who has been part of the franchise's four consecutive NL East championships. "Less question marks. Not that question marks ever bothered us. We like to prove skeptics wrong, but coming into this year there would only one or two things people were kind of iffy about. And then we had a great acquisition in Little Roy. Halladay took all the pressure off of Cole. Roy [Oswalt] took all the pressure off of everybody. He came in and shut the door. He's been lights out. He's been true to his career. The second half, the man just takes it to another place."

                                                              My advice is,

Back Reds in play when (if) Halladay leaves the game in 8th (if he doesn't pitch a complete game) and if Phillies have the lead. Phillies pen is garbaga. They can easily blow up 2-3 run lead.
The Phils' 'pen is not garbage. not even close to garbage. Madson and Lidge have been FANTASTIC over the last several weeks. Lidge: 2 ER (24.2 IP) since August first. Madson: 4 ER (in 35 innings) since August first (2earned in 2 separate outings).

You know anyone in Philly is holding their breath when Lidge gets into the game. Be careful today I can see them dropping this game but ultimately winning the series. Doc isn't the same when it starts to get chilly outside. Tred lightly.
