LOL. So Phillies are gonna win because they have american starters and Reds have latinos? It's not about skill it's about where they were born?
THis is the most retarded post I've read for a while.

Anything can happen in short series, but the Reds even taking it to 5 games would be a huge accomplishment for them.

I ultimately feel the Phils take it but i dont think it will be just THAT simple for PHILLY. I really feel that Reds hang in there with their batting power, because they DO have it, but Oswalt is an ATHLETE..that guy is a competitor at the highest level and honestly feel he does best of all three pitchers.
Having said that, I think Reds take them to 4 or 5 games. The first two will be phils and the third i feel reds take. We just gotta see how bullpens and batters hold up, honestly. Lots to go into this guys...
4 or 5 game series, PHILLIES take it...

BUT, let me just comment one thing, i think its closer than most care to acknowledge. I wouldnt wanna bet it from a realistic perspective, but i feel at +200 something for the series you get great value with REDS..

Vegas is not going to give you value betting the Phillies right now (universally seen as the best team in the NL). Reds are below radar and possess one of the most dangerous lineups in the NL. Starting pitching is key but remember that Reds have a whole bunch of feast or famine pitchers (pitchers that have good stuff but lack consistency) that can shut down the hot or cold phillies bats potentially. For one I think game one's Doc line at -210 is crazy.

All you need to cap is the Braves/Phillies series in Philly two weeks ago where they used 1-2-3 (Halladay, Oswald, Hamels). The Phillies scored no more than 4 runs per game and still beat the Braves in 3 games. This was a playoff mode rehearsal. This is what Reds will be facing. Going 0-2 in Philly and then fighting for their lives to win game 3 to stay alive.

As a Reds fan I hope you are right, but I don't think they have the talent to stay with Philly.

in addition to bronson- they have chapman the guy who threw the fastest pitch ever recorded last week 105mph...homer bailey- stud on the mound, that kid Wood that almost threw a perfect game or a no-hitter but he was against halladay who was doing the same thing. johnny cueto who has a wide array of pitches and whos had a successful campaign so far this year.
im a phillies fan and i hope they win but the reds got bats and pitching aswell. no they're not gonna beat the phillies but its not for lack of pitchers.

This is coming from the same person that said the Bears were going to beat the Giants on last Sunday night. I see this as being very unlikely here. I see the Phils sweeping the Reds. The Phils have a very good pitching staff and some good hitting also. They are playing very well even after they clinched their division.

Volquez hasn't face the Phillies since 2008.
The entire Philly line-up has Playoff experience.

Nobody believes in the Reds, even when they were tied with St. Louis in August they were 3-1 dogs to take the division, and laughed their way in, good luck to those fading the Redlegs cuz you're gonna need it.

Reds have some crafty vets on the roster with lots of playoff experience. They have what it takes this year to make a deep run in these playoffs. Phillies bats were very inconsistent throughout the year, their pitching carried them to that impressive record. Phillies cold bats will lead to Reds in 5...

As i mentioned before...Phillie has EVERYTHING going for them on paper, but i think itll be a dog fight for 4 to 5 games. i dont think itll be just a walk in the park...Even if Phillies take them in 3 games, the three games will be draining and watch out for the phillies in the following series...
I think at -210 the phillies are not worth it. I really like the REDS +1.5 line here or the under in this game. BOL to everyone and i do hope phillies win...i love oswalt and they got the dream team IMO, but anything is possible in baseball...

They were? For some reason I have no recollection of the Cardinals being heavily favored. What were the odds? You mean they were heavily favored over the Phillies to go the World Series?

That was me. I'm not saying they are bad pitchers. But they will be rattled in Philly. Their fans are mean. Do you remember how KRod melted down for Mets earlier this year? All they need is a bad inning where they lose their composure and the Phillies put 3-4 runs and the game is over with Halladay and Oswalt pitching.

I will also put all of my points on the line that say that you are wrong, as well... Phils should sweep... but this definitely is not going more than 4 games.
Reds over/under 9 runs for the SERIES?

Of course the Phillies will probably win this series, so I think everyone is stating the obvious here, especially with their pitching rotation set up the way it is. However, this is by no means even close to a sure thing. Have we forgotten that the Phillie hitters have been wildly streaky throughout the season and they struggled to score runs at different points of the year? Have we also forgotten how bad the Phillie bullpen can be? They've been better as of late, but I don't think they overwhelm anyone. Also don't forget how much PRESSURE is on this team to win the World Series after acquiring Halladay and trading Cliff Lee away. The Reds have very little pressure on them at this point as their organization has been significant progress this year already, despite how they fare in the postseason.
That being said, I say the Phillies get this done in 4 games, but it won't be a cake walk.

The Reds wont beat the Phillies. The only way the Phillies lose this series is if they beat themselves. And that isnt going to happen to a team thats been to back to back world series.
