Doooo ittt.....I have a theory about this game tonight....might post it later unless you tell me its ludicrous...

I checked the probable pitchers on sunday and it said Pettite-Cecil. It is Cito Gaston's last night at ever as a home coach/manager. He is a very well-respected man across the league and there willl be a big ceremony for him and all and i'm thinking that maybe this pitching matchup was changed from the best NYY pitcher to arguably the worst to give Cito a final home win and farewell. I think they did this all the while knowing that half the public at least will still pound NYY cuz of the league position they are in and necessity to win games from herre on in....

im not touching the total, because it all depends on who giradi decides to use between innings 4-9. LOL.

that is a very sound theory...i think you have just talked me into playing the Jays tonight. of course, i will need to look at any line movements between now and game time before anything is made official.

I also like this theory. I will probably play them for a bit. Maybe a mix of:
Jays 1st 5
Jays TT over
Jays ML
Jays -1.5
Game Total Over

Tor does look tempting tonight but Cecil hasnt exactly been lighting it up lately & the Yanks still have most of their studs in the lineup. I'm beginning to think NY might be the side tonight. I don't buy the whole they just clinched a playoff spot talk. They are still in the running for the east & I can't see this team letting up. They did not win all those championships by letting up. I'm sure they would much rather win the east & have home field instead of starting on the road. I think they show up & play tough. I don't see a let down.

Cecil's been outstanding vs. NYY this season, but I agree, he hasn't exactly been sharp recently.

I don't think the Yanks are really considering themselves in the playoffs yet. Watching the end of the game last night, there was no celebration. Just business as usual. Compare that to the Rays, who were all over the field and drenched in champange.

The pitching change is the only sign of the Yanks clinching. Pettitte is probably out so he can rest up for game 2. But that's it. AROD, Tex, Jetes, they are all going to play. While it may not mean much winning the AL East, the Yanks are still playing to win it.

Further, any time you can get the Yanks at + money is something to consider...
