Hot pitcher for the Pirates going with some hot home bats. Regardless of payrolls and personal opinion the Pirates are a better team right now, especially at home. Things will have to turn and go the other way for St. Louis to get of the deck. So far the team has not show the ability or the guts to fight, couple that with a hot pitcher going for the Pirates swinging some hot bats going against a pitcher in (suppan) that hasn't won since moby dick was a minnow. St. Louis didn't have what it took to muster it up when it counted...going to be even harder now that the season is over. St. Louis isn't use to just playing for pride. Pirates on the other hand have been in this same role since April.

I agree, but I think there is a very good reason for that. Think about it.. No matter how shitty a pitcher Suppan has been it is rare to see the Cardinals a dog to the Pirates. Pirates enjoy beating the Cardinals and are looking forward to beating them again today...while the Cardinals have vacations and tee times set. I think the young Pirates fight for the victory today.


Think about it... if you are a pitcher that has any stuff and brains you can easily shut down the Cardinals.. Sure Pujols and Halladay are studs, but if you pitch smart to them and avoid them when you can the rest of the lineup is a joke practically... I think many pitchers have figured this out. The Cards are a top heavy team with no substance without the big 2.

i like Pit's position here. they are motivated and playing good baseball against a STL team that seems to have given up for the rest of the season. STL just doesn't have anything left to play for. Suppan will get lit up today. PIT's batting average vs Suppan is 3.75!

the play on TOR is a gut feeling. line opened in the -130's for SEA with King Felix on the mound. 64% of ml bets are on SEA, but the line has only moved a couple cents to the dollar (actually has moved in TOR's favor, but recently shifted back). King Felix may pitch a good game, but it takes more than a pitcher to win a game. TOR's bats are superior to SEA's and that, i believe, gives TOR the edge.
