I have the Chicago White Sox over 82.5 wins. For a long time, this looked like a great play but their season has gone downhill faster than Mel Gibson's career.
They aren't in the race in the AL Central, Manny Ramirez was a wasted pickup, their bullpen has completely collapsed and it looks like Ozzie Guillen is done as a coach.
Can this team win four more games? They have won just twice in their last 12 games.
The concern is that this is a veteran team and they have nothing to play for. They don't have many youngsters to develop and the veterans know there is nothing to play for.
They might lose every game down the stretch of the season - I actually believe that.
Any advice on the situation? Should I start betting against them to recoup some of the money?
They have one more game against Oakland, then they play three more on the road against the Angels, then come home for four against Boston, and then finish up with three against Cleveland.
Any advice is appreciated.
